ABOUT MASA HARINA/ MAKKI KA ATTA: Naturally Pahadi 's Masa Harina (Nixtamalized Corn Flour): is a type of maize flour (not to be confused with corn starch) made from dried corn kernels that are cooked and soaked in a lime solution which enhances the flavour. Soaking corn in lime gives masa its earthy flavour and breaks down the structure of the grain so it can be made into a soft dough easily, without breaking like normal corn flour. The process also adds Calcium and makes its Niacin—an essential B 12 Vitamin more digestible and easier to absorb in our body.
BENEFITS: The flour is a healthier alternative to normal makki ka atta which is hard to digest and less flavourful. It reduces your risk of heart disease and increases your Calcium intake; especially if you’re gluten-free. Thus making healthier option than normal corn flour or makki ka atta.
